The President Invites Relatives of Injured Military Soldiers to the White House

President Trump announced on Sunday that he has asked the relatives of a Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

Presidential Invitation

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump informed journalists. “And likewise with him, recover or not.”

Community Response

Mourners came together over the past few days at the high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of Trump’s federal initiative to aid public safety in DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators desired. She behaved with inner fortitude, a warm expression and a optimistic attitude that lifted those around her,” the principal, the leader of her former high school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was sweet, caring and always willing to support those in need.”

Service details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Judicial Actions and Government Changes

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while armed.

The event prompted the Trump administration to suspend asylum applications and temporarily stop granting visas to holders of travel documents.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a native of Martinsburg, enlisted in February 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi told the program that she also intended to visit his relatives.

Memory of Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County High in 2023 and joined the military shortly after, working as a military police officer with excellence, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she absolutely had bravery,” Morrisey addressed the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
